Description
Derry City and Strabane District Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified Service Delivery Partner to oversee Community Hubs to Support Asylum Seekers and Refugees. Asylum Seekers have historically been accommodated within the Belfast City Council boundary for a variety of reasons including to support reporting to the local Home Office and access to immigration legal support. Dispersed accommodation along with a number of hotels being used for contingency accommodation is now being procured outside of Belfast City Council area. Derry City and Strabane District Council area is now a dispersal area outside Belfast for the resettlement of Asylum Seekers and Refugees. The Executive Office provides funding to District Councils to deliver on Community Hubs and support services for Asylum Seekers and Refugees. Derry City and Strabane District Council (DCSDC) previously delivered programmes for Asylum Seekers and Refugees which is outlined below. This Community Hubs Project will build on this work and enhance the services provided for Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the DCSDC area.
